Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER) membership Categories

Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER) seeks to promote academic research and scholarship. It is committed to 'Progress and Prosperity through Managerial Excellence'. CBER offers a range of membership levels and services that is intended to cater for the needs of individuals and institutions.

Membership levels are divided into 4 categories. This is intended to accommodate the needs of individuals and institutions from different backgrounds.
          1. Full Membership
          2. Fellow Membership
          3. Institutional Membership
          4. Honorary Fellowship

Full Membership
This membership level is open to individuals who have extensive industrial/Academic and management experience in responsible capacity. Candidates must have successfully completed a degree level qualification or having 3 years of relevant management and industrial experience. Also, individuals, who qualified by way of being professionals and having long-term work experience, can apply to become a full member of the Centre. Full Members can use the letters MCBER after their name to reveal their level of attainment.

Fellow Membership
This is awarded to persons whose contribution to the CBER and the wider business/academic community and society is deemed to be exceptional. It will include individuals who ascribe to the ethos of CBER and whose active participation in its activities contributes to CBER’s overall effectiveness. The letters post-nominal FCBER can be used to demonstrate the level of attainment/recognition.

Other requirements include:
          :: Any recognised University degree
          ::  Other recognised professional qualifications
          ::  Minimum of 10 years management and industrial experience
          :: Published scholarly articles
          :: Clear and proven commitment to the CBER

Institutional Membership
CBER accepts applications from organizations with an interest in furthering the mission and objectives of the Centre for Institutional membership. They can be: Universities, Departments, faculties, Schools and Institute of Universities, Further and Higher Educational Colleges, Independent Colleges, Independent schools, Specialists training providers, Government and non-governmental organisations, Private and public limited organisations with special interests in retailing and any other organisations with similar interests.

Honorary Fellowship
From time to time the Centre will honour deserving members (academicians and non-academicians) and other persons from the wider community who have contributed extensively to the field of Business and Economic research and/or to the community and society at large. Such individuals are awarded by the CBER for contributions deemed exceptional that are acknowledged locally or throughout the world. Members can recommend individuals for such fellowship with relevant and supporting arguments. Two (2) Honorary Fellowship will be awarded by the Centre each year.

Benefits of Individual & Fellow Membership:
The principal benefit amongst all categories is the opportunity to meet and interact with successful and experienced professionals, thus creating the potential for personal improvement and potential contacts.
          :: All members will be constantly updated through the CBER`s regular journals and website bulletins regarding meetings and special events, and actively encouraged
             to participate (at discounted rates if a fee is charged).
          :: All members receive an official Certificate of Membership.
          :: Both Full & Fellow members gain professional recognition and make valuable personal and professional contacts.
          :: All Members gain professional recognition by participation international conferences.
          :: Full members of the Centre will be entitled to a 15% & Fellow members 20% reduction on the registration fee for conferences organised by the Centre.
          :: All members will get free online copy of the Journal of the Centre for Business Economic Research.
          :: All members will enjoy discounted rates for our various management training courses.
          :: Fellow members can be invited to Join as a Keynote speaker at the conference organised by the Centre.

Benefits of Institutional Membership:
          :: The principal benefit amongst all categories is the opportunity to meet and interact with successful and experienced professionals, thus creating the potential for
             personal improvement and new contacts from across the globe.
          :: All members will be regularly updated through the CBER`s journal and website bulletins regarding meetings and special events, and actively encouraged to
             participate at a discounted rate if a fee is charged.
          :: Institutional members will receive an official Certificate of Membership.
          :: Institutional members will receive online version of the Journals published by the CBER.
          :: Post-graduate students studying at Member Institution will be entitled to a 15% reduction on the registration fee for academic conferences organised by the Centre.
          :: Institutional members will have their name listed as such on the Centre's website.
          :: Academic and non-Academic staff of the member Institution will benefit from discounted access to any conferences / seminars organised by CBER and a range of
             potential opportunities by virtue of the contact with the executives of other businesses and organisations.
          :: Staff of the Member of Institution will enjoy discounted rates for our various management training courses.

Benefits of Honorary Fellowship
          :: The principal benefit amongst all categories is the opportunity to meet and interact with successful and experienced professionals, thus creating the potential for
             personal improvement and potential contacts.
          :: All Fellows will be constantly updated through the CBER`s regular journal and website bulletins regarding meetings and special events, and actively encouraged to
             participate (at discounted rates if a fee is charged).
          :: Honorary Fellows receive an official Certificate of Fellowship.
          :: Gain professional recognition by participation international conferences.
          :: Honorary Fellows of the Centre will be entitled to a 25% reduction on the registration fee for conferences organised by the Centre and from Journal publication.
          :: All Honorary Fellows will get free on-line copy of the Journals published by the Centre and all conference proceedings.
          :: All members will enjoy discounted rates for our various management training courses.
          :: Honorary Fellows can be invited to Join as a Keynote speaker at the conference organised by the Centre
          :: Honorary Fellows are invited to publish books, working paper series, special reports & edited book chapters 

Membership fees
Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER) membership fees are as follows:

Full Membership: £100
Fellow Membership: £300
Institutional membership: £1000

The membership fee is one-off for all categories and this gives membership of the Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER) for life
