Dr Imbarine Bujang

Associate Professor, Faculty of Business and management, Univeriti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia

Associate Professor Dr Imbarine Bujang is a full-time academician attached with the faculty of Business and management, Univeriti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia since January 2010. Throughout his service at UiTM Sabah Campus, from August 2010 till December 2018, he has held several key positions such as Program Coordinator, Chairman of the Anchor Campus and the Head of postgraduate studies. Associate Professor Dr Imbarine Bujang holds a PhD in Financial Economics from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. His patience towards research works in the area of financial economics, econometrics, behavioral finance, financial management; Investment and Research methodology has contributed significantly to the body of literature. Being mindful of the needs of the country to have more PhD graduates, Associate Professor Dr Imbarine Bujang, has produced 14 PhD and 8 Master by research graduates within 6 years of his service (2013-2018). Currently 11 PhD students are working towards their Viva Voce. It is also a notable professional and personal achievement that 6 of Dr Imbarine’s PhD graduates had managed to graduate on time (G.O.T) and one of them was recognized as the university’s youngest PhD graduate at the age of 25.  4 of his PhD graduated were the recipients of the excellence research award in 2018. Such outstanding achievement has prompted other local universities to invite Assoc. Prof Imbarine to share his insights and expertise on matters such as “Graduate on Time”. In due course, Associate Professor Dr Imbarine Bujang has received “The Jewel in the Crown” award from the Faculty of Business and Management marked his achievement as the “Best Supervisor” in 2018.   Associate Professor Dr Imbarine Bujang is also a prestigious author of a number of papers about finance and economics and had won several best paper awards. He is still very active in research work and have presented at numerous conferences in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia itself.
