Manuscript Submission Procedures

 

Authors are invited to submit original research papers, case studies, reviews, work in progress reports, abstracts, student’s papers or research proposals within the broad scope of the Journal.

The following guidelines must be adhered to when submitting the papers: 
No manuscript will be accepted without the Required Format. All manuscripts should be professionally proofread before the submission 

  1.  Introduction
  1. Manuscript should be written in English and should be submitted to the Editor-in-chief electronically through the online system as e-mail attachment to editor@abrmr.com
  2. If electronic media is not available, the original paper may be submitted on standard CD to the Editor by using full postal address which is, The Academy of Business & Retail Management, Talbot House, 204-226 Imperial Drive, Rayners Lane, Harrow, Middlesex, HA2 7HH, United Kingdom. 
  3. Manuscripts are to be submitted as MS Word documents for Windows. Other formats will not be accepted.

 

  1. General Manuscript Guidelines
  1. Margin: Set the paper size to A4 with One (1) inch on all sides (Top, bottom, left, right.)
  2. Font size and type: The fonts to be used are Book Antiqua in 12 point pitch. Main headings-14 and subheadings-12. Please use BOLD for paper title.
  3. Major and secondary headings must be BOLD, left-justified and in lower case.
  4. Spacing and punctuation: Space once after commas, colons and semicolons within sentences. The body of the papers should be single spaced.
  5. Line spacing: Single spaced throughout the paper, including the title page, abstract, body of the document, tables, figures, diagrams, pictures, references and appendices.
  6. Length of the Paper: The paper length should not exceed 15 pages maximum including figures, tables, references and appendices.
  7. Paragraphing: A blank line between paragraphs should be left without indent.
     
  1. Structure of the Manuscript
    3.1 Covering page
          The front page of the manuscript must be organised as follows: 
         
    (i) Title of the Article –Paper title to be cantered on the page, uppercase and lowercase letters, Font size 14, bold
         (ii) Author (s) name (s): Uppercase and lowercase letters, centered on the line following the title, font size 12, bold
         (iii) Institutional affiliation: name of the institute and country, Uppercase and lowercase letters, centered on the line following the author(s) name, font size 12
         (iv) Authors note: Provide information about the author`s departmental affiliation, acknowledgment for any financial and non financial assistance, mailing address for correspondence, email addresses for all co-authors
        (v) Key words:  Maximum 6 key words, font size 11

    3.2 Abstract: The abstract is self contained summary of the most important elements of the paper
        (i) Pagination: The abstract begins on a new page
       (ii) Heading: Upper and lower case letters with 12 font size bold and align text to the left.
       (iii) Length and format: Abstract should be the summary of the paper, not more than 300 words, abstract should include purpose of the paper, design/methodology employed, findings, practical implications and originality statement. Font size 11.

3.3 Body of the manuscript
       
From the second page the rest of manuscript should be included the introduction/background, main   body  of the paper which can be divided into section and sub-sections. Section and sub-section should be numbered and should be typed in BOLD. The manuscript should be organised as follows:
 
       a. The Introduction
       b. Main body of the paper with sections and sub-sections
       c. Discussions and conclusions
       d. Research limitations and direction for further research
       e. References
       f. 
Appendices (if any)

 3.4 Use of Table, Figures and Equations
       (a) All tables are to be centred and numbered sequentially, with their title centred below the table.
       (b) All figures must be reproduced black and white. A good quality graphic software to be used and                figures are to be centred with the caption to be centred below the figure
       (c) All equations must be typeset with the same word processor and type in Mathtype (please visit the website at www.mathtype.com for free limited trial).

4. References
         
The Harvard System of referencing should be used for all manuscript(s) submitted to ABRM`s Conferences and Journals for all sources. All sources should be listed together; there should not be separate lists for books, journal articles and electronic sources. Making a list of what you have used must be appropriate to the type of source used; the details you need to record will vary according to the source.
