Essential Preparation

Visas and Travel Advice: It is the personal responsibility of all conference delegates to check the requirements with regards to visas. Please give ample time to make the necessary arrangements. In recent months the Academy has received anecdotal evidence that for some countries visa applications are taking considerably longer. Regardless of your nationality it is therefore essential that you initiate the application in a timely and professional manner. Please note that the Academy accepts no liability with regards to persons whose visa application is declined for any reason. Transport arrangements and travel insurance are the responsibility of individual delegates.

Regardless of where you are in the world it pays to take sensible precautions in order to remain safe. The following websites feature some excellent personal safety tips:

We also advise that you familiarise yourself with the following:www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.  The following is well worth noting and is taken from the FCO website:

“The French government has launched a free smartphone app to alert users about possible security incidents, including all major natural, technological and terrorist-related risks. Users will be able to view alerts for up to eight geographical areas. The app, called SAIP (Systèmed’alerteetd’information des populations), is available in English and French. You can download the app by entering the term ‘SAIP’ in the Apple App store or Google Play.”

Insurance: It is imperative that you make appropriate arrangements with regards to travel insurance.
