CBERDr. Abdul Rahim Soomro

A professional civil servant turned academic and consultant in law and business is having 36 years of working experience in the public and private sectors in Pakistan and abroad. Joined civil service by securing the first position in the Combined Competitive Examination of Public Service Commission. As a generalist has served in different fields, heading departments of law & parliamentary affairs, home & prison, land revenue, agriculture, forest, wildlife, livestock, fisheries, environment, social welfare, public health, rural development, community development, public procurement, culture, tourism, heritage and others. In their early career, he has served in district administration as Executive Magistrate, Collector land revenue and District Coordination Officer heading eleven district departments.  With his main job, he continued teaching different subjects of law and business in different universities throughout his career. He has been actively involved in training, development and research. Dr Soomro has an academically diverse qualification background, his basic degree was in medicine in addition to that he earned a master’s degree in law, Economics and Business Administration from Pakistan and an LLM in ‘International Economic Law Justice & Development’ from Birkbeck College, University of London. He is a PhD scholar in law, and his subject of research is ‘Agriculture laws and Food Security. During his stay in the United Kingdom, he has been full time teaching Business and Law in different colleges in London.
