CBERCancellation of all academic conferences in 2020
Re: Cancellation of all academic conferences in 2020
With great regret and sadness, we announce that all academic conferences from CBER in 2020 are going to be postponed until the summer of 2021. This decision has been taken due to the current situation concerning the Coronavirus. You will appreciate that this decision has not been taken lightly and was the result of lengthy deliberations as well as consultation with the UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
We hope that you will appreciate that the situation around COVID-19 is extremely fluid and thus we will endeavour to act according to official guidance. Our primary consideration is the safety and well-being of attendees and thus we hope that you will understand why we have chosen to postpone all academic conferences. We also have a duty to give thought to the staff at the conference venue as well as the community in which the venue is situated. Furthermore, we need to be mindful of on-going travel restrictions and issues around the granting of visas.
